Holiday Magic at Disneyland Resort Hotels
During the holiday season (Nov. 14, 2011 – Jan. 8, 2012), all three hotels take on an extra-special glow, with their own uniquely themed holiday décor, special entertainment, and delicious holiday fare at hotel restaurants – as well as in the adjacent Downtown Disney® District. Whether it’s dazzling lighting effects on the towers of the newly re-imagined Disneyland Hotel; the breathtaking 35-foot Christmas tree in the Grand Hall of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel® & Spa; or the laid-back, ocean-themed décor in Disney’s Paradise Pier® Hotel, you can see and experience holiday magic a whole new way with a stay in one of these iconic hotels.
Celebrate Christmas by adding a little more spirit to your hotel room by ordering a specially decorated Christmas tree. (This tree, available for an additional fee, will be yours to take home when you check out, if you wish.) And if you opt for concierge-level accommodations, you will find special holiday treats like hot apple cider and cookies you can decorate, waiting for you in the concierge lounge.
A holiday stay at the Disneyland Resort is sure to be an enchanting experience, so remember to check back often for the latest special offers for your Disneyland Resort vacation by clicking the “Specials -> Domestic” buttons on the menu at the top of the screen.

I have set up our agency website, and I’m slowly adding options to it. On the bottom of the home page, click on any of the supplier icons to see what each supplier offers.
Every year we take a trip to Mexico. Usually it’s 7-10 days in length. Last year we spent a week in San Carlos, on the Sea of Cortez. This year we stayed with family in Guadalajara, and on the coast north of Puerto Vallarta.
If you have the opportunity to stay with relatives for several days, I recommend against it. You are tied to their schedules and transportation.
If you want to really see the country, rent your own vehicle. You can stay with family, but make sure you have your own transportation. Enough said.
We drove from Phoenix to El Centro, CA, and crossed over into Mexico at Mexicali and left our vehicle at the Aeropuerto de Mexicali. We flew from there to Guadalajara for 10 days. During this time, we attended a wedding in Ocotlán, a lakeside fiesta in Mezcala, and a week of beachtime on the Riviera Nayarit.
I will post a slideshow of some of the images from Mezcala, and I will also post about our experiences beachside.
On the road between Poncitlon and Mezcala, in Jalisco, Mexico. Beautiful views of Lake Chapala. Beyond this point, however, the asphalt ends and it’s cobblestones all the way to the bottom of the switchback trail.
One nice thing about Volaris Airlines…they give you 15kg of baggage weight per ticket, and they figure it as a gross amount. Even though all of our bags were just over the 15kg mark, because they were under 60kg, we didn´t pay an excess weight fee.
Love it. Oh, this is Mexicali International Airport. It was interesting. More photos to come.
Looking out the window of the boarding area at Mexicali Airport. This was not out plane. Ours was a later flight. But it was the same type of aircraft, an Airbus 319.
I am being reminded this morning, forcibly, that we are 2 hours ahead of Arizona here. It’s already after 10am here, and everyone is just starting to get ready to face the day.
We are in Guadalajara for a wedding, and then we will head for the Riviera Nayarit for a week at Rincon de Guyabitos, in a beach bungalow.
I fully intend to visit the Puerto/Nuevo Vallarta area and check out some of the resorts.
It’s going to be a busy week, but we’ll make it. And I’ll post pictures when we get back.
David
Good morning! Since this is my first blog post for this account, I think it is fitting that it be from the city that never sleeps, Las Vegas.
I’m here to attend my first ever Vacation.com Convention and conference. This should be fun!
